After years of working as a creative director for various companies, Luke Knowles decided to do things his way. It all started in 2007 with the creation of FreeShipping.org. That single site ignited a series of online-shopping "firsts," including the first mobile application with in-store coupons for hundreds of retailers; the first online gift card registry; and the only national shopping event for holiday procrastinators.
Entrepreneur magazine featured Knowles and Free Shipping Day, noting the online shopping holiday "wasn't the brainchild of corporate America. The credit goes instead to an ambitious 30-year-old entrepreneur named Luke Knowles." Thanks to the event's growing popularity, Luke successfully launched Free Shipping Day Canada in 2011.
The money-saving websites created and managed by his company Kinoli Inc. enjoy over 12-million visitors per year. More than 1.5 million people have downloaded the Coupon Sherpa mobile app, touted as an Apple Staff Favorite just two months after launch.
A desire to help people save money serves as Luke's inspiration for the continuing development of creative online resources.
